Subject designation

Tita Overfeeder

Field profile

Anyone's plate is never actually empty in her eyes. Love is measured in rice.

Known behaviors

  • Adds rice to your plate while you are still chewing.
  • Interprets 'busog na po ako' as a personal challenge.
  • Packs you baon home whether you asked for it or not.

Natural habitat

The kitchen, the dining table, and the doorway as you leave, where a second plate of food materializes for the road.

Signature phrase, on record

Kain ka pa, ang payat mo!

Case notes

To her, a guest who leaves hungry is a failure on her part, so refusing food reads as rejecting the affection behind it. There is no polite exit from a second helping, only strategic delay. Eat slowly, praise the adobo loudly, and accept the takeout container as the peace treaty it is. The container, of course, must eventually be returned. It has her name written on the bottom in permanent marker.

Engagement protocol, for field use

  1. 01Arrive hungry. Anything less is walking into an ambush unprepared.
  2. 02Pace yourself. The first plate is a test, the second is mandatory, the third is love.
  3. 03Take the baon home. Refusing the tupperware is the only unforgivable offense. Return it washed.
